PRESENT

PRESENT: An Advent Series on Incarnational Living

At Christmas, we celebrate the miracle that God Himself became present with us. The eternal Word “took on flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14). That’s the heart of the Incarnation—the Son of God entering our world, taking on flesh, feeling our pain, and revealing the Father’s love. Jesus didn’t love us from a distance; He moved into the neighborhood.

This Advent, we want to follow His example by pushing further into a life that is present— with God, with one another, and with our neighbors. The title PRESENT is a play on words: Jesus, God with us, is the greatest present we’ve ever received. His example calls us to be present in a distracted world. Over these four weeks, our goal will be to slow down, be with people, and embody the love of Christ in everyday life. The goal isn’t just to celebrate His coming once a year, but to practice incarnational living all year long.
God’s presence changes us. God’s presence unites us. God’s presence sends us. God’s presence fills us with gratitude.

In addition to our weekly gatherings, we will also have a network-wide opportunity to serve together in our community. Click below to learn more and to sign-up!

Opportunities to Serve

Weekly Calendar

Week 1 – November 30
(Celebration Service at Wes and Whittney’s Home)Theme: Be Present with the Lord
Scripture: John 1:14 ; Matthew 1:18-25
The incarnation is God’s ultimate act of presence—He didn’t send a message but came Himself. The Word was made flesh. Immanuel means ‘God with us’. Let’s focus on being present, abiding, with the Lord. This is the foundation for our incarnational living with one another and with our neighbors.
Week 2 – December 7 (Multiply Sunday at Laughinghouse MC)
Theme: Be Present with One Another
Because of Jesus’ presence on earth and the present of his salvation, we have been united with him and with other believers. He prayed for our unity and commanded us to love one another. Remembering His presence with us, let’s be diligent in being present with one another this Christmas season.

Week 3 – December 14 (Regular MicroChurch Sunday)
Theme: Be Present in the Neighborhood
Jesus met people where they lived and loved them where they were. We reflect Him when we move toward others who are not walking with Him.

Week 4 – December 21 (Celebration Service at The Farm)
Theme: Grateful for His Presence
We should express gratitude for His presence and the present of his salvation and we should give him glory for what he has been doing in our lives. We will ask people to share testimonies and celebrate stories of how God has worked in our lives and in the church over the last year.
